Cassandra Steen (born February 9, 1980) is a German singer, songwriter and voice actress, who rose to fame as the lead singer of the trio Glashaus. After a series of commercially successful releases with the group, Steen released her moderately successful solo debut album Seele mit Herz in 2003. After her departure from Glashaus and a label change to Universal Urban Records in 2007, she released her second album Darum leben wir in February 2009. A gold-certified the top ten success, it spawned three singles, including "Stadt," the fourth biggest-selling single of 2009 in Germany. In 2010, she won the ECHO Award for Best National Artist Rock/Pop.

 

Cavalera Conspiracy is a heavy metal group formed by Brazilian brothers Max Cavalera (vocals, guitar) and Igor Cavalera (drums), along with American guitarist Marc Rizzo and the bassist Johny Chow, also from USA. The band originally formed in 2007 as Inflikted but changed its name for legal reasons. The group's creation marked the end of a 10-year feud between the Cavalera brothers, who founded Sepultura in the early 1980s.

 

The Black Lips are a self-described “flower punk” band which formed in Atlanta, Georgia, United States in 2000. While still teenagers, they formed after guitarist Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley left the Renegades, and guitarist Ben Eberbaugh left the Reruns. Drummer Joe Bradley joined a few months later. They released their first 7” in late 2001/early 2002 on their own Die Slaughterhaus label.

 

Alphaville is a German synthpop group which gained popularity in the 1980s. The founding members were Marian Gold (real name Hartwig Schierbaum, born 26 May 1954 in Herford, North Rhine-Westphalia), Bernhard Lloyd (real name Bernhard Gößling, born 6 June 1960 in Enger, North Rhine-Westphalia), and Frank Mertens (real name Frank Sorgatz, born 26 October 1961 in Enger, North Rhine-Westphalia). The band was at first named Forever Young before changing to Alphaville. They are best known for their two biggest hits, "Big in Japan" and "Forever Young". As of 2010 they have sold over 6,000,000 albums.

 

Asking Alexandria are an English metalcore band from York, North Yorkshire. Founded in 2008 when Ben Bruce (lead guitar) contacted old companions after residing back to England from Dubai. The current line-up of the group consists of Ben Bruce, Danny Worsnop (vocals), Cameron Liddell (rhythm guitar), Sam Bettley (bass guitar) and James Cassells (drums).

Blackfoot is a Southern rock musical ensemble from Jacksonville, Florida organized during 1970. Though they are primarily a Southern rock music band, they were known best as a hard rock music band. They had a number of successful albums during the 1970s and early 1980s (including Strikes (1979), Tomcattin' (1980) and Marauder (1981). The original team disbanded by late 1985, though not before former Uriah Heep band's keyboardist/songwriter Ken Hensley had joined the group during their last two years together.

 

Boyce Avenue is a Puerto Rican-American acoustic rock band. It was formed in Sarasota, Florida by brothers Alejandro, Daniel and Fabian Manzano. The band is named after a combination of two streets the brothers lived on as children.

 

Brooke Gabrielle Fraser, better known as simply Brooke Fraser born (15 December 1983) is a New Zealand award-winning folk-pop . Her third studio album Flags has become the most successful album of her career, with the single "Something in the Water" reaching number one on the RIANZ singles chart in 2010.

 

James Blake is an English James Blake is an English electronic musician from London, England. James began his final year at Goldsmiths in September 2009 studying popular music while recording songs in his bedroom. Blake attended The Latymer School and released his debut 12" "Air and Lack Thereof" on Hemlock Audio in July 2009. It was a firm favourite with Gilles Peterson from BBC Radio 1. James was invited to do a special mix on Gilles Peterson's worldwide show which included an exclusive Mount Kimbie track.

 

Originally a cover band named Nutella, the aptly named German pop punk act Itchy Poopzkid formed in 2000 in Eislingen an der Fils. They released a demo, Two Thumbs Down in 2001, and followed with another EP length release, ...Having A Time, in 2003. They built a reputation for their live show, which included instrument changes mid-set as well as rants between songs that would go on to be included as bonus tracks on later releases. Their first album, the live Fuck-Ups...Live! was released in 2004, and the band signed with Where Are My Records around the same time. 2005 saw the release of Heart to Believe, and by the time of 2007's Time to Ignite, the band had played several festivals, opened up for Canadian quasi-punker outfit Sum 41, and released a handful of singles, of which "Silence Is Killing Me" broke the top 100. Their last album "Lights Out London" was released in February 2011.
