Manfred Mann were a British beat, rhythm and blues, pop, and cover band of the 1960s, named after their South African keyboardist, Manfred Mann, who later led the successful 1970s group Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Manfred Mann were chart regulars in the 1960s, and the first south-of-England-based group to top the US Billboard Hot 100 during the so-called British invasion.

 

"Nazareth" is a Scottish rock band that had several hard rock hits in the UK in the early 1970s, and established an international audience with their 1975 album Hair of the Dog. Perhaps their best-known hit single was a cover of the ballad "Love Hurts", in 1975. The band continues to record and tour to the present day.

 

"Die Happy"was founded in 1993 by Czech singer Marta Jandová and Thorsten Mewes. Even though the band is based in Germany, their songs are written and performed almost exclusively in English. Jandová provides additional vocals on the song "Undivided" from Dog Eat Dog's 2006 release, Walk With Me, "Horizont" from In Extremo's album Mein Rasend Herz, "Wie weit/How far" from Apocalyptica's self-titled album and the 2010 single "Halt dich an mir fest" with Revolverheld from the album In Farbe. She is also featured on Träumst Du? from Oomph!'s album GlaubeLiebeTod, the winning entry for the 2007 Bundesvision Song Contest. Jandová was a foreign exchange student in the USA before joining Die Happy.

 

Klaus Lage is a German musician whose mixture of guitar-based pop/rock and singer/songwriter compositions in the liedermacher tradition became immensely popular in the 1980s. His biggest hit single, 1984's "1000 und 1 Nacht (Zoom!)" (1000 and 1 Night), is a staple of retro compilations and parties, but Lage has had more hits afterward, writing and performing songs for feature films and musicals, and even creating the official German versions of Randy Newman's Toy Story songs.

 

Uriah Heep are an English rock band. The band released several commercially successful albums in the 1970s such as Uriah Heep Live (1973), but their audience declined by the 1980s, to the point where they became essentially a cult band in the United States and United Kingdom. Uriah Heep maintain a significant following in Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, the Balkans, Japan and Russia, where they still perform at stadium-sized venues. Uriah Heep were the first Western band to play in Soviet Russia, under Gorbachev's policy of glasnost. They have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
